Challenger Learning Center at Wheeling Jesuit University

What started out as a tragedy on the morning of January 28, 1986 has turned into a monumental, educational triumph. The Challenger Center for Space Science Education, serves as a living legacy to help students build the skills most needed for the 21st century, including decision making, teamwork, problem-solving and communication. The Challenger Learning Center Network has grown to comprise 48 locations across the United States and other nations serving more than four million students to date.

Our center is located on the campus of Wheeling Jesuit University. Our doors opened in 1994 and currently offer programs for students in grades kindergarten though high school. We also have a distance learning program called "e-Missions" that connects our center to schools across the country as well as all over the world via video conferencing equipment and the internet.
