More about Champion Taekwondo Baxter

First, THANK YOU for visiting our page. Here's our quick info, should you want to reach us right now:
Our phone is 803-396-5425, feel free to phone us but Master Jenn is hard to catch on the studio phone. (She is probably on the mat training or teaching or outside walking and talking!) If you'd like to EMAIL for more info, or to set a time to talk, that is the best way to reach her. Her address at the studio is masterjenn@championtkdbaxter.com .
Champion Taekwondo has been in business at the Baxter Village location since 2010. Taekwondo is a Korean based art, known for its kicking techniques, however at Champion Taekwondo our approach includes many other aspects of martial arts training. Our goal is to fit the training to the body type, needs, and interests, rather than simply teaching one-size-fits-all classes. We offer programs for all ages, men, women, and children.
Baxter Town Center is located directly off of exit 85 for Hwy 160 on I-77 (Fort Mill / Tega Cay) between Rock Hill and Charlotte. The studio is in the lower floor of Exchange Building straight across from McAlister’s Deli. Parking can be limited on the front of the building but if you turn left on Assembly between the studio and Miller Street Dance you will find plenty of space and our rear entrance. Students and parents are welcome to enter from either side.

Here's a list of what we consider to be the benefits of taking lessons with us:
-Thorough full-body exercise. For children we employ methods that are time tested and guaranteed to spend the extra energy all parents would like to help their children spend, doing healthy, enriching things.
-An emphasis on good habits of health. Rest, diet, regular exercise, and avoidance of things that ARE NOT healthy, is an on-going dialogue on our classroom floor.
Anger control. We talk about it, we teach the techniques of it, and we emphasize some aspect of self-control in every single class we teach.
-Bully education. We work with all ages of people on how not to become a victim of bullying --and how not to BE a Bully to others. This program is not children specific in our facility. Bullies unfortunately come in all ages and all environments.
-Self-defense. From the techniques of awareness development to pragmatic, effective ideas of self-defense that training is covered in a multitude of ways in every weeks lessons. For any age and especially children we are deliberate about teaching non-violent resolution of conflict as the first and best choice. Scaling force is taught so that students can understand the proper amount of force required to end a self defense situation quickly. This is covered for adults more in depth regarding use of force laws and understanding why violence happens in the first place. Simply teaching high level technique without knowledge of these areas can be dangerous. Knowledge with proper technique equips students to deal with violence appropriately--and in a way parents approve of and will appreciate.
-Team-building, leadership, and character development. When it comes to lessons about being a part of a team, leading a team effort, and/or how to properly contribute to anything related to team, we know how to nurture the right attitude and outlook on the subject. Every single class is a hands on lesson in getting along with others, working well together, and in developing both leadership skills and the ability to play team, full out, when called to do so. Character development and cultivation is the real lessons of Taekwondo, at least is is the way we teach it.
If you'd like a free trial course, just send Master Jenn a message at this address masterjenn@championtkdbaxter.com and mention that you actually read this description all the way to here and we will offer you a free (usually $20) trial course--and happily too.
Thank you!
