Chapel Hill Middle School Band

The CHMS Bulldog Band is an award winning sweepstakes extracurricular organization that spans from 6th through 8th grade on the Chapel Hill Middle School Campus within Chapel Hill ISD in Tyler, TX. The CHMS Bulldog Band Directors are Mr. Weston Fisher, Mr. Nicolas Kelley, Mr. Joseph Hewitt, Mrs. Marlena Phillips, and Mrs. Natalie Wright.


We consist of the 6th grade Beginner Band, the 7th Grade Bands, and the 8th Grade Bands. The CHMS Bulldog Band on average is home to 350 students from grade 6th through 8th.

Students in the beginner band learn a band instrument and begin their career in the band program. They are able to participate in solo competitions, many band concerts, and the Soundpost Band Festival. Classes are divided up by instrument in beginner band.

In the 7th and 8th Grade Bands, the students meet as a full band 7th grade band and separate 8th grade band every day. They perform at Pep Rallies, Football Games, they give concerts, are able to participate at MS All Region Contest, MS Solo and Ensemble Contest, MS Concert and Sight-reading Contest, and we have a big band trip each year usually to Six Flags in Arlington, TX.
