MISSION:
In all areas of our work, Chaplains on the Harbor will work to amplify the voices of the poor; equip and unite leaders across lines of difference which have historically been used to divide and conquer us; and turn the religious rhetoric of this country toward the dignity and liberation of all creation. We ground our mission, approach, and urgency in obedience to Jesus’ words at the inauguration of his own world-changing rural ministry in the backwoods and fishing villages of Galilee: "The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the good news" (Mark 1:15). Repent from a world that treats struggling people like garbage. Believe in good news of the poor, by the poor, for the poor.
