Charcoal Alley

I couldn't answer the phone calls that night, my twins were only a couple of weeks old and my hands were full. I checked the first of many messages- my photography studio was on fire. My heart raced until I finally got to a point where I could leave the babies with my husband. I turned the corner and saw it, my career was in flames. I sat on the concrete all night with friends, family, and the rest of an unbelievably supportive community. The cleanup battle wasn't any easy one, but I obviously needed that time for a plan. I needed a new project to pour myself into. My mother in law launched an idea in my head that grew everyday. I was determined to turn this burnt, crumbled, disaster back into something optimistic. I questioned if the words "burn" and "positive" could ever go hand in hand. One night it hit me, of course they can. Charcoal. Charcoal is burned, and charcoal makes people happy. Not to mention it's already embedded in my family history with my grandfather's Campfire Charcoal plant that was right here in Jacksonville. Be watching as it develops. Have courage to start a new adventure and join me in my project. The first Mobile Food Truck Park in East Texas will be right here, in downtown Jacksonville.
