More about Chellybean Boutique

The inspiration for and the dedication of Chellybean Boutique is in loving memory of my dear sister and best friend “Bean” Mary Beth Moser. Bean was my role model and biggest fan. She supported every idea I had even if some of them were a little crazy. She always believed in me. Through our relationship as sisters she taught me love, patience, strength, faith, determination and how to keep a positive attitude. As little kids we were oil and water but in our adult years she was the peanut butter to my jelly. She was my first call for every life event and I was hers. Not a day went by where we didn’t talk on the phone, text or email each other.
So as the days turn into months and eventually years since the passing of my sister, I am left fighting through the pain of missing her and wondering how can I keep her spirit alive? This is how… to cast my fears aside and be the small boat in the big ocean that creates big waves of emotion by opening a clothing boutique. It is just the type of idea that my sister would have loved. I can almost hear her voice saying, “You are crazy to be doing this with all that you have going on, but if anyone can do it, it’s you Chell!”
Why a boutique you ask, well because it is part of our story as sisters. Anytime my sister had an event or a date with her hubby or any occasion really, she would call me for fashion advice. She expected me to know her closet by memory, (which I sort of did). When I didn’t quite remember the exact item of clothing she was referring to, she would send me a picture to remind me. I helped her in almost every fashion decision she made, even when it came time to shave her head. I helped her pick out her accessories to bring back that feminine felling that can be lost when you lose your hair. When my sister was going through her battle her body slowly faded away. It was with fashion that she kept a bit of herself alive and felt like a woman even if her body didn’t look so feminine anymore. That is what fashion can do. It can transform your self-image. A good outfit can make you feel successful, sexy, feminine, pretty and strong. We both had a love of boutiques and would shop them when she came to visit me in Sioux Falls.
We grew up in a small town which is why Wilmot is the perfect place for the story Chellybean Boutique to begin and the legacy that was (is) “Bean” my sister Mary Beth Moser to live on.
