Chicago Playpen

Who we are: The Chicago Playpen is a hands-on Edutainment facility for families. The goal is to enrich the lives of families with young children by providing a fun-filled, safe, and clean environment for children to learn, play, and imagine.

What we do: While at Chicago Playpen our “Imagination Captains” will aid children in exploring various city themed installations. We employ “sneaky learning techniques” to encourage children to think critically and creatively.

Installations include: a bank, salon, fire station, coffee house, construction site
and a shopping boutique.

Research has shown that the brain’s biggest growth spurt occurs in the first five years of life. Babies are born with all of their organs completely formed, except for their brain. Meaningful interaction, movement, talk, touch, and play, all have a noted effect on the wiring of a child’s brain. Early experiences like these cause synaptic connections in the brain to grow and literally shape sensational brains. Chicago Playpen has been created precisely to provide these early learning experiences.
