The Southwest Michigan Children's Trauma Assessment Center (CTAC) at Western Michigan University recognizes that exposure to potentially traumatic events can affect child functioning within the cognitive, affective, behavioral and physiological domains. CTAC provides clinical assessments for children ages 3 months - 17 years old who have experienced trauma, training services for professionals and community members on trauma related issues, and works to create trauma-informed services and systems for children and their families.
The goal of CTAC is to change the question about children from "What is wrong with this child?" to "What's happened to this child?"
