Choose Joy was founded to assist families after experiencing a fire . this includes Families of burn victims while their loved ones are at a Burn Unit, such as Crozer Keystone Hospital and was created in memory of my daughter, Joyce Anne Morris. In Joys memory we have tried to pull a few of her passions in life together , helping others, unsigned unheard musicians, promoting, working with other nonprofits and our community, and of course having a good time.
Being a victim of a house fire that resulted in my daughters death, I have personally experienced the need.
Fire is devastating and life altering. My Son and i are lucky we had family and friends who advocated for us, and still do.
We have built a team of volunteers who are helping us turn our grief and loss in to something positive by paying forward the love and help we have received.There are Organizations that help for the first few days but we want be there when the shock wears off.
Choose Joy is striving to fill the gaps and help with transportation costs,to and from the hospital. We do this buy purchasing gift/gas cards we send to a designated Representative of the Hospital. We collect non perishable food,Clothing ,furnishing and household items for local families and the hospital to come get needed items. We Have a Volunteer LSW to advocate for the folks we are helping,Our long term goals are to assist with well pet check ups and housing , assist families in securing temp and permanent housing after a fire,to assist with funeral expenses as needed.

We will be supporting the community by working with other non profit organizations, and small business owners to host and co-host events that spotlight unsigned local artists . These will be artists who do not have the means to bring exposure to their talent, and are bringing positive uplifting messages to the community.

Choose JOY will work with the communities youth to promote safe fun events where the whole community can be involved to strengthen our community.

We will also be using guerrilla marketing techniques which will allow us to once again tap into and uplift people in the community who normally are considered unemployable.

Choose Joy is recognized by FEMA and provides free fire safety information at all of our events because fire is everyone's fight!

Helping Families After A Fire
Choose JOY has started a clothing and non-perishable food closet. We except any and all donations including but not limited to:

- any household furnishings

- items for the families at Crozers' Chec House

*Gift Cards can be Mailed directly to Your local Burn Unit .for the Tri-State Area Chester Crozer Keystone is our Burn Unit.
How We Do What We Do
Choose JOY spotlights local unsigned musicians at events we host and co-host. Some of our events include:

- "Shopping and a Show" where we combine a vendor event to spotlight our local small business owners with local musicians
- a yearly haunted trail to collect food, coats, and shoes for those in need
- and roller skating nights for some good family fun

Some other ways Choose JOY raises funds are silent auctions, raffles, and online fundraising.

We also volunteer at other local events to support community growth and unity.

During the holiday's we distribute gifts to anyone in need, not just victims of fire.
