Chowan University is Christian and is the second oldest Baptist college in North Carolina. Students of all faiths and denominations are welcome!

Chowan University has teachers that teach their classes, know your name, and care about your success. We have just over 1,500 students and the student to faculty ratio is 16:1.

Chowan University offers over 70 academic programs. We also offer18 NCAA Division II teams competing in the CIAA, Conference Carolinas and the Bluegrass Mountain Conference. Chowan also has state of the art fitness centers, smart classrooms, and a 300+ acre campus.

Located in the small community of Murfreesboro, NC, Chowan University is just an hour drive from the major cities of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, VA. Raleigh, NC is just 2 hours away.

There are lots of opportunities to get involved with over 45 clubs and organizations on campus.
