Hey, You Found Us!

Welcome to Christ Community Church’s Facebook site. Our “given name” was The First Baptist Church of Lansing, but several years ago we changed the name to celebrate the fact that we are multi-denominational in membership and scope.

We are a small, urban church that is traditional in worship and warm and caring in fellowship. We feel our worship time should take us beyond the sanctuary and help us meet our God. We take time to sing, pray, listen to the word. We also have time to just be quiet and allow the Good Lord to talk to us. So if you like to sing with organ and piano in a wonderful acoustically balanced sanctuary, join us and lift your voices with ours. Even those of us who “make a joyful noise” sound good here.

Since we are headed into the Christmas Season, let me entice you by saying we are going to sing a lot of the old Christmas Carols throughout the holiday Season. We hope we sing your favorite and if we don’t let us know and we’ll see if we can add it.

Oh yes, don’t let the small size fool you. What we lack in numbers we make up for in persistence and dogged determination. We haven’t totally figured out what the Good Lord has in mind for us so each day we stay tuned to God’s direction. If an open, searching, loving atmosphere that is open to God’s leading intrigues you, come and help us grow in our service to this community and to the growth of God’s love to his brothers and sisters.

Always remember if you need special prayers let us know by going to our web site www.christcommunitylansing.org and click on “prayer concerns” or just call the office. If you have special needs we work with Christian Services, Advent House and other wonderful community groups.

Know we believe you are a child of God and very special in God’s sight. As the little boy said: “(We) know we are somebody cuz God don’t make no junk.’

Now If you come to visit, don’t forget to introduce yourself to the pastor. He is the big fellow up front most Sundays.
