More about Christ Temple Holiness Church of the Apostolic Faith

Welcome to Christ Temple Holiness Church of the Apostolic Faith where the Pastor is Elder Bryant A. Murphy and the First Lady Sister Leslie Murphy.

We are excited about doing Gods work in ministry, and pray that we can draw people to Christ.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible (unalterable) word of God, written by holy men of old as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (II Peter 1:20,21)

We believe in ONE God, infinite in power, whose name is Jesus. We believe that he was revealed to us as Father in creation, Son in redemption, and Holy Spirit in His comforting grace that never leaves those who trust in Him. (I Cor. 8:6, 1 Eph. 4:6.11; II Cor. 5:19; Joel 2:28)

We believe that in Jesus Christ dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; for it pleased the Father that in HIM should all the fullness dwell. And that JESUS ONLY, is the visible expression of the invisible God. (Hebrews 1:1-3; Col. 2:9; Col. 1:19)

We believe in the virgin birth; that Jesus was both human and divine — God manifest in the flesh. (Isaiah 7:14; I Timothy 3:16)

We believe in the death burial and resurrection of Jesus. (1Cor. 15:1-4)

We believe in baptism in water by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. (Acts 2:4, 38; Acts 19:5-6)

We believe in the glorious catching away of the saints (the rapture), before the tribulation and that those who have been baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and have the baptism of the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and living a life of Holiness will go with Him when He comes. We also believe in the literal second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ at the end of the tribulation ( I Thes. 4:13-18; I Cor. 15:51-54; Acts 2:11). Those that died in Faith in the Old Testament are saved by imputation (so are we) and will also make the Rapture at this time (Heb.11:4).

We believe in living a Holy and Sanctified life apart from which one can not please God (Heb. 12:14)

We believe in Divine Healing, Communion and foot washing (I Thes. 4:3,7; I Cor. 11:23-26; John 13:4-15)

We believe in the Resurrection of the dead and the Final Judgment wherein all who were not in the first resurrection will be judged according to the deeds done in the body. (Rev. 20:12-15)

We believe in a real HEAVEN with Eternal Life and a real HELL with Eternal Damnation. (Rev. 21:3-8)

What the BIBLE TEACHES about Marriage!

We believe that the scriptures unalterably define marriage as a union between a man and a woman and any marriage union other than the scriptures allow is unlawful in the sight of God. In the beginning, "God created man in his own image…, male and female created He them," with the command to replenish the earth (Genesis 1:27-28). God so decreed that man (male) and his wife (female) were to become ONE FLESH thus creating the highest level of human relationship—the basic family (Genesis 2:23-25). This relationship is consummated in the sexual union between HUSBAND and WIFE. In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul likens the relationship to the church with Christ, using the example of the marriage union of Husband and Wife (Eph. 5:25-32). Throughout the Holy Scriptures marriage is ALWAYS described as the union of MALE and FEMALE HUSBAND and WIFE (I Tim. 3:2). (See the 2004 Minute Book, Section 15 "Sexual Immorality.") We believe that marriage is one of the most sacred relationships that God has ordained and must be entered into ONLY as God has ordained. Therefore, we believe that marriage is contracted exclusively between a MAN and a WOMAN, MALE and FEMALE, and any other arrangement of marriage proposed by man or civil law is in violation of the Word of God and will not be recognized by Christ Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith Inc.

We specifically believe further, that the so-called homosexual gay marriages or civil unions between man and man (male and male) or Lesbians, woman and woman (female and female), are an abomination and sinful in the sight of God. Such "marriages or civil unions" will NOT be recognized, practiced or sanctioned by the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. (Rom. 1:24-32, II Peter 2:6-8, Leviticus 18:1,2124). We further define marriage as a public contract between a man and woman Section 10 (Marriage) of the Manual of Discipline and Doctrine, page 125 of the 2004 Minute Book. We do not believe that two people living together (unmarried) constitute a marriage, and if this be the case, then they should either separate or get legally married.

We believe and teach the PAW doctrine from the minute book because it is in line with the Word of God!
