Have you ever stood on the edge of something so big that you couldn’t really comprehend it? Forty years ago, the first members of Christ United Methodist Church met in in a school cafeteria for worship. They faithfully set up and took down chairs each Sunday morning for worship. Week after week, volunteers carried boxes of toys and crafts from their cars to create a nursery and Sunday school for children. They had no clue that their church would someday grow to have 5,000 members. They couldn’t comprehend that members of CUMC would travel all around the world on mission projects or build ten houses for families in Plano. The early members of CUMC, working hard to spread the word about their new church, simply knew that they were following the call of God in their lives. The Holy Spirit, which empowered the first members of Christ United Methodist Church, is continuing to inspire and guide the congregation to start a new church in Princeton.
