More about Christian Arts Museum

“The Lord’s Supper” display is one of the contributions to the religious culture of Fort Worth originally provided by the late Mr. William Fleming and Mrs. Fleming. It was given to the Southern Baptist Radio and Television Commission.

Two well-known California artists were commissioned to create the exhibit especially for Fort Worth.

The Katherine Stuberghs, mother and daughter, worked for about 18 months on “The Lord’s Supper.” The elder woman, who has since died, spent untold hours placing the human hair in each head and beard – some 40,000 strands in each.

The ability to work artistically and creatively with wax was brought to this country by Mrs. Stubergh’s father and has remained a family trade through the generations.

This impressive scene is now on permanent display at the Christian Arts Museum by virtue of an endowment set up by the F. Howard Walsh Foundation. It is the hope of the sponsors that this unusual and meaningful presentation will have a positive Christian influence in the community.

Tours of this facility are available from Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Group Tours please call the museum. (817) 332-7878.
