Pastor J. Luther Carroll started the Church as a mission in a rented facility on Harford Road in northeast Baltimore. They later moved to an old theater on Garrison Boulevard and named the church Life Evangelical Church.
In 1980, the church was reincorporated as Christian Life Church and relocated to 6605 Liberty Road.
On May 17, 2007 Rev. Carroll went home to be with the Lord.
