My story begins by making handmade gifts for friends and family. Initially it was just what I thought would e a few presents here and there, but I received so MUCH positive feedback I decided to try my hand at making jewelry to sell. I sold at my workplace as well as a small local flea market in South Carolina. I did ok, but not enough to quit my day job.
Fast forward a few years, a divorce and travel nursing. I landed in Hawaii on a travel nursing job, and decided to stay. I loved the people, the culture and most of all the Majestic Beauty I saw all around me. It once again started tugging at me to try my hand once more at making jewelry. I did, and did well by having my handmade jewelry in a quaint shop in Hawaii Kai at the advice of a neighbor.
Again fast forward, this time, I was living and breathing my dreams of being in Hawaii for good. Well, my parents became ill and what was only supposed to be a two week leave of absence from the island, ended when my father received a liver transplant in 2012. In my travels since I have been to Henderson, Nevada and eventually landed back in my hometown of Salinas, California. Since being back home now going on 4 years, I eventually became disabled due to health issues and found myself wondering once again if I should GO FOR IT! Well, I did! And I am so VERY thankful that I picked it back up and having been rolling along since.
I now do the local Farmer's Market in Old Town every Saturday and other various Vendor events when able. I also have a vendor spot in a new Consignment/Vendor showcase shop in the heart of Salinas! Front Porch Consignment shop located at 475 Front St. has welcomed me with open arms and I am really enjoying the positive feedback from the WONDERFUL Owners Gary and Chris!
