Cinderella Project of the Shenandoah Valley

Cinderella Project of the Shenandoah Valley started in 2003, in the back room of the local Salvation Army. All it took was one broadcast of a mother stating how expensive prom was, to get the wheels turning. What happens to the kids whose family have come upon unfortunate circumstances? Prom is expensive, but what about the girls who dream about her sparkly ball gown or the guys who want their tuxedos? Why should these kids, whatever their reason is, have to sacrifice the experience of picking a pretty formal dress, dress, shoes and jewelry or suits, ties and shoes? That's where we come in. Our goal is to create an experience for kids who would not be able to go to prom due to the cost. We are a completely non-profit group who takes donations of anything formal related for both girls and guys, but we take it one step further. We also offer them toiletries, hair & makeup tips, and shorter dresses & ties for graduation. Here in 2015, we have a retail space set with each department (clothing, shoes, make-up etc.) Each client also gets her/his own stylist to help with the process. We work on complete confidentiality, we at Cinderella Project of the Shenandoah Valley do not know anything about anyone's situation, and we like it that way! We take donations at our temporary retail space in the Staunton Mall, but we also need monetary donations to help us get the non-profit form fees needed and so we are able to collect needed items all year round! We are so excited to be where we are, to see how far we have grown and mostly how many lives were affected in a positive way! Please help us achieve our goals, so we can help as many people as possible all over Virginia!
