Pritchard Community Center is the home base for the City of Elizabethtown Parks and Recreation Department.
We have ten facilities that we take care of:
American Legion Park

Facilities include a 9-hole par-3 golf course, four tennis courts, Funtopia playground, large shelter, club house with restrooms, swimming pool and kiddie pool.
Elizabethtown Nature Park

The Elizabethtown Nature Park is Elizabethtown’s newest park with 104-acres of gently rolling former pastureland. Freeman Creek meanders through the park as it flows to the City’s largest lake, Freeman Lake. The park also houses the Hardin County Veteran’s Tribute Memorial.

Elizabethtown’s Freeman Lake Park is home to three historical structures. There’s the Lincoln Heritage House: a double log house crafted in part by Abraham Lincoln’s father, Thomas Lincoln. Next door, you’ll see a restored one-room school house which was built with handmade shingles in 1892. Fishing, walking trails, boating, picnic shelters, disc golf, lighted tennis complex and a bandstand.

This is not your ordinary run-of-the-mill playground. It is a $150,000 playground including a huge wooden structure that will entertain many children with its creative playstations.
Gates Field

Facilities include four Youth Softball Fields and restrooms/concession building. Activities include the Elizabethtown Youth Softball Program for ages 5-7, 8-10, 11-13, 14-17 (Open to both boys and girls.) The season runs from late May through mid-July. Registration is in March and April. Teams are organized and practice begins in May. The league is for the purpose of having fun and is non-competitive.
Greenbelt Walking Tours & Parks
The Elizabethtown Greenbelt Walking Tours and Parks is an expanding series of trails and mini-parks around Freeman Lake, Buffalo Lake, Fisherman’s Lake and all along the stream that flow to and from them. These parks and their accompanying riparian areas serve as a way to protect the recreational, ecological, educational, historical and aesthetic values, and preserve the natural attributes of the many local waterways- things that make Elizabethtown a pleasant place to live.

Home of the Elizabethtown Youth Soccer Association. Youth programs in fall and spring seasons. 6 playing fields (5 are lighted), restrooms, concessions and a playground.
Nicholas Street Soccer Fields

This facility contains several soccer fields and is generally used as a practice location for the youth soccer program.

Elizabethtown’s Pritchard Community Center can accommodate large or small group meetings. Your group will enjoy a business atmosphere with relaxed surroundings. You’ll find tennis and racquetball courts, basketball, volleyball, fitness and weight equipment, a complete kitchen and arboretum and many other recreational activities.
