More about City of Madeira, Ohio

Incorporated in 1910, the City of Madeira remains one of the premier communities in Greater Cincinnati. The variety of housing options, coupled by its strong school system, small town atmosphere, and access to other parts of the region, are major strengths of this community.

Originally developed along the railroad line between Cincinnati and Parkersburg, West Virginia, Madeira remains in close proximity to other parts of the Tri-state, with the accessibility of Interstate 71 and Montgomery Road. Other jurisdictions constantly strive to obtain the small town feel that Madeira has maintained. An excellent school system, couple by nearby commercial and employment centers, are also strong aspects of the community.

After a large annexation in the 1970s, Madeira’s population has stabilized due to changing household demographics, large elderly population, few opportunities for annexation and development. In no way should this population trend be taken to indicate a community on the decline. Madeira continues to be a healthy city that is attractive to new residents, with median income and home values well above the county average.
