Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, the largest African-American women's organization in the world, was founded by 22 college women on January 13 1913 on the campus of Howard University. Today, the sorority has a membership of over 250,000 women in the United States and abroad, dedicated to public service through our Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:
-Educational Development
-Economic Development
-Political Awareness
-International Awareness and Involvement
-Mental and Physical Health
The Clarksdale-Marks Alumnae Chapter sponsored scholarships at Coahoma Community College, all area high schools in Coahoma and Quitman Counties, Little League baseball and tee ball, basketball teams, teen theaters, summer camp, Breakfast with Santa, ACT workshops, Mental Health, Dramatic Productions, Miss Jabberwock, Lil Miss Deltot, HIV/AIDS Awareness, Relay for Life, Breast Cancer Awareness, Biennial Beautillion, and many other projects that benefit our communities and surrounding areas.
