For the past several years, Steven has been working hard to develop a movie-themed food service business in his local community. He is now achieving his dream of owning the Classic Movie Cafe & Concessions – a mobile food cart featuring a theater-inspired menu. Throughout his lifetime, Steven has demonstrated a remarkable ability to recall movie trivia and it is Steven’s passion for classic films that inspired the development of this exciting new business. Steven experiences autism and is the first person in Oregon to receive self-employment business venture investments from the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation Services along with intensive individualized self-employment support services from the Office of Developmental Disabilities Services. This is a significant success story for Oregon’s Employment First initiative, and is expected to pave the way for other aspiring entrepreneurs across the country.
