A native of Wilmington, I have always been extremely active. From an early age, I kept active dancing, cheerleading and weight training. I have my Bachelor of Science in Sports, Fitness & Leisure Studies and my Associate of Science in Physical Therapy. I have worked as an Exercise Physiologist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor or Pilates Instructor since the early 1990s. I came upon Pilates taking a continuing education course in 2001 when I was pregnant with my first child. I discovered then, and continue to love, how Pilates is challenging and inspiring at every level of fitness and for every individual body. I began teaching Pilates in 2003 with my first certification through the IWA to teach Pilates Fundamentals and in 2007 got certified through Peak Pilates with Clare Dunphy, a notable and highly respected instructor in the field, who trained with Master Teacher Romana Kryzanowska. I am Advanced Mat Certified and have been trained in the MVe Fitness Chair and Barrel. I am also trained in the TRX suspension trainer.
