As a society, we understand that a lifetime of success or a lifetime of failure can often be attributed to the first years of a child’s life. Children are truly like thirsty sponges, soaking up the world around them. We all see that amazing ability to learn when a child moves from one country to another and absorbs the new language like sunshine. Our children’s brains have been created to learn! Statistics also tell us that if children do not learn at a young age, their chances of finding success in life become very slim. A child who reads below grade level by age six is much more likely to drop out of high school. This sounds extreme, but often children who are struggling blame themselves and feel inadequate….. but it is not their fault. As a society we do not put real value into early education. Florida has one of the most under funded early education programs in America. Our children deserve to know they are capable, that they are smart and that success is an option for them. Regardless of income, nationality, race or gender all children are born with the key to create success for themselves. It is up to us, as parents and educators, to help them use that key….. by giving them the best education we can. That is what we will do every day at Clear Path Learning Center, help children succeed.
