The school was established in 1981, as a parents co-op home school with a few students. As of today, we have 200 students, 16 classes ranging from toddlers to 10th grade. Since 1992, the school has been accredited by the Illinois State Board of Education as a foreign language school. School districts 113, 125, 211, 214 and 220 accept transfer foreign language credit from CNSCS.
CNSCS is a member of Midwest Chinese Schools Association. School students also participate Midwest area Speech Contest, Vocabulary Contest, Hi-Hwa sports activities (Basketball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Chinese Dance, martial arts, etc.) crafts, Chicago New Year Celebration Program, etc.
