Welcome to Coco Lane! I’m Annie and the crazy mind behind this operation. Like any great story, ours starts with the simplest of beginnings. What began as a few words on wood as Christmas presents has turned into a way for me to share my love of language through art. The other half of Coco Lane is my handy, renaissance-man boyfriend, Dan—I couldn’t do it without him.
Coco Lane produces handmade, hand painted signs with your custom sayings or ours. At Coco Lane, we aim to create happy and fun pieces & we hope that our positivity is infectious. We’re inspired by the bygone era where much of life was made by hand.
Our name, Coco Lane comes from a sunny little street all the way down in Jupiter Florida. Dan & I vacationed there with our family and fell in love with the beachy vibe, amazing people, and the essence of Coco Lane. We attempt to capture the spirit of Coco Lane in some of our work, so we can share a little bit of sunshine & happiness with you.
I’ve always loved creating, but my love affair with crafting began in the spring of 2014 when I started creating artwork to fill Dan & I’s first-apartment walls. I have always had a passion for words, quotes, and saying so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that soon I’ll be graduating from University of Alaska Anchorage with my Bachelors in Communication & Anthropology. Anthropology, the study of culture is closely tied to communication. To me-- culture is communication, communication is culture. Communication is the means of human interaction through which cultural characteristics are created and shared. My goal for Coco Lane is to create, shape, and transmit a culture where my love of communication is expressed through signs we create.
Basically, if you can say it, I can make it. All of my signs are designed by hand with you in mind. Whether you’re looking for something fun, classy, beautiful or anything in-between, this is the place to be.
My hope is to make your family members smile or (happy) cry when receiving a gift from Coco Lane.
