"Coconuts" is one of the last original Florida Keys Bars on Big Pine Key. In 1972, Joe and Meri-Lynn Britz and her parents, Ron and Betty Rondeau, found the piece of property on US1 and decided to buy it together. We knew it would take awhile, but after the proposed 7-Mile Bridge was built, it would be a good place to start a family business. "Coconuts" was built over 31 years ago when the Keys were a very different place. The same owners have been there all along and remain active in supporting their community . "Coconuts" is located at the only traffic light on Pine Key. Stop in and feel what the Keys "felt" like a very long time ago. Nice place, nice folks... on a very special Island...Coconuts is a local "roadhouse" on Big Pine Key that opened in Feb. 1983. In all these years, there have been many changes in venue and many wonderful customers. Thank you to all the wonderful friends and fans that have made "The Nut" possible. The background music is all Key Lime Pie Band tunes. Stop in and see us ... Joe and Meri-Lynn
