Collective Avenue began when two local Lynwood natives thought, "there are so many great coffee shops making their communities a better place, why not bring that to our community?" Lynwood deserves a place for young adults to work, think, and socialize, and what better way than through a cup of quality coffee?
How do we run a business with the community in mind?
We make it a cooperative, of course.
What does that mean?
A cooperative is the most democratic form of running a business, where every worker is also an owner, and profits are distributed equally among the worker-owners.
Yes, there is such a thing.
At Collective Avenue Coffee, we are not just baristas, we run the business, and support the community through showcasing local musicians, artists, and more.
We are currently a pop-up shop at Balam Taco with a vision of opening our own location in Lynwood.
