More about Color Me Cocoa

Many of you already know that I am in to health and fitness and love helping people

What’s better than being fit and toned? Being fit, toned, and TANNED, of course! Yeah, it’s cheesy, but it did catch your attention, eh?!

Whenever an occasion of some sort pops up, first things first, we run to the nearest tanning salon. The last thing we want to do is blend in with the snow at the annual Xmas party,a and living in the Windy City doesn’t help either, but just because we can’t experience the Cali sunshine all year round, why not trick ourselves and others with a rockin’ fresh and EVEN airbrush tan.

Alright, enough with that. Let’s be real here. The reason I am now offering spray tans isn’t because I want to spray down butt naked women with a mist of color that will eventually fade away. I am doing this for the same reason I work as a fitness Coach; because I care about the well being of others. What can I say, I get off on the fact of people believing in themselves and making changes that will only make them happier. But what gave me the ultimate push in this situation was when a friend of mine came to me recently with some shocking news. She was diagnosed with melanoma. I just stood there in shock-staring off into space. I couldn’t believe this. We both started tanning in high school and I continued on and off, but she went only a few months here and there while traveling where she was away from the ultraviolet lights.

We all hear about, we all read about it, but we still want the look--we want to be tan. Why? Because it makes us feel HOT! But going through chemo, well that’s not so hot. After reading up on the skin cancer and the cause, it only made sense for me to start a Airbrush Tanning business. care for the well being of my friends, family, and clients who all follow the trend of being sun kissed all year long. But if I am not OK with them smoking or eating junk constantly, why would I be ok with them damaging their skin with UV lights? I wouldn’t. In a recent study done by the chemists at the Skin Care Foundation, those who tan indoors under UV lights tend to develop melanoma 74% more than someone who has never tanned indoors. Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer today, and it has sky rocketed since being sun kissed has become the ultimate trend.

Yes, beauty is pain, but let's not get into war with cancer. That is a fight I'd rather avoid. Come see me and lets get that skin looking like it was kissed by a Sun God ;)
