Common Earth Farms

Common Earth Farms provides refugee farmers from various countries currently settled in the Manchester area with land and resources to practice their traditional profession and to earn income. These fully empowered farmers, with support from a dedicated group of local volunteers and non-profits, run a high production all natural farming operation to include:
• A non-GMO organic soils/fertilizer vegetable seedling greenhouse operation located in Bedford which generates approximately 70,000 plants. Seedlings are sold in season on the Farm at our self-serve seedling sales area
• During the farming season (approximately May 15), the "no spray" organically fertilized produce is sold at various venues. These venues include an on-site self-serve farm stand and participation in various local farmers markets. All proceeds from the sale of the produce goes directly to the refugee farmers.
o The farm grows many traditional ethnic foods not otherwise available to the local new American population to include: African eggplant, mustard greens, amaranth greens, daikon radish, bitter melon, and more
o With a grant from Wholesome Wave, the farm is able to offer produce at a 50% reduction for those using EBT cards
o The Farm also supports 16 refugee families with community garden plots
