Common Scents

This unique "shabby chic" style shop, owned and operated by Candy Shores, is located in a 120-year old building in Historic Downtown Calvert at the southwest corner of Burnett Street and HW6.


CANDLES GALORE
Candy stocks as many as 50 different varieties of candles wholesale to the public. These wonderful homemade candles come in two sizes and are displayed across the front of her unique Southwestern shop appropriately named Common Scents.

The smaller size candle is an 8-ounce candle, which burns for approximately 35-40 hours and sells for $6.00 plus tax. All her candles are available in a fantastic array of mouth-watering scents The larger size is 16-ounces, burns approximately 90 hours, and sells for $11.00 plus tax.

According to a recent customer of Candy's Candles, Len Kubiak of Rockdale, "These candles have amazingly long lasting aromas unlike the cheap candles you find in the discount stores. These candles are well worth the drive to Calvert!".
