CBC held its first service on March 13th, 1983. So as far as churches are concerned we are still a young congregation. We are an independent, non-denominational church. This means we are congregationally governed and everyone’s voice is important in the ministries, programs and outreach of this church. We have two representative boards from our congregatin making up a council and trustees.
We believe in the authority of God’s word. We preach and teach from the word of God as a guide for our daily lives. We believe in the message of God’s grace through Jesus Christ his Son. We want to live up to our name by connecting the Community and the Church through the message of the Bible.
We have an informal worship style using a blend of contemporary and traditional. We are multi-generational and desire to reach people of all ages. The strength of our church is in our focus on Christ alone and in our community involvement. We go out into the community each week - visiting members, hospitals, nursing homes, shut-ins and those who may have special needs. We set up service projects 2-3 times a year in which we try to serve hands-on in the community. One evening a month we work at The Haven of Rest Mission in Akron serving a meal to the homeless.
CBC will never be perfect, but it is our goal to follow Christ so closely in our daily living that we have an impact on our community.
