Community Light Center

Light Center is a unique, volunteer-based community-benefit center focused on empowering the community with self-care skills for holistic health.

HISTORY

The Center is located in Upper Valley of El Paso, Texas close to New Mexico state-line, and has been operational since January 1, 2012. It is enriched by scenic views of The Franklin Mountains, amazing sunsets, neighboring longhorn bulls and is surrounded by cotton fields, pecan orchards, and horse-ranches.

The Center has 3.5 acres of land with two buildings. The main building is 4,500 square feet with a large kitchen, four bathrooms, and seven rooms including Yoga/Seminar room, Dining/Cooking-Demo facility, Library, and Meditation room. This eco-friendly facility has solar panels, reverse osmosis water system, a Pomegranate grove, and a Meditation Labyrinth.

The second building, the Light Annex, houses a far-infra-red sauna, an energy healing center, and a multi-purpose room. It also has the Southwest Community Art & Eco Gardens and a composting unit.

VISION

The vision of Light Center is to bring the Southwest community together by providing a venue with a conducive and nurturing atmosphere to appreciate, share, and promote the unique pool of talents and expertise of the community.

ACTIVITIES

The center offers seminars, workshops, and retreats on self-care skills for holistic health. It also provides various professional services by appointment. In addition, the community is welcome to reap the benefits of connecting with Nature by gardening in the Southwest Community Art and Eco Gardens.

Events:

1. Regularly scheduled events
Yoga classes for all ages (Hatha yoga, Vinyasa yoga, Chair yoga), Meditation,
Chinmaya Mission Sunday School for children and adults, Book Club, Thursday Socials, Reiki Share, Monthly Holistic Health Series, NLP and Mind-Body Skills Workshop for management of stress, anger etc.

2. Periodic events
Laughter yoga, Faster EFT, Raja yoga Meditation, Classes related to Gardening, Energy- Healing Workshops, Movies etc.

3. Special annual events
Drumming Circle, Holistic Fest, Earth Day, World Labyrinth Day, Shamanic Journey, and Day Retreats.

SUSTAINABILITY
