Founded in 1983, the Community Soup Bowl began with a simple vision — to help feed the community’s hungry — cooking soup in the kitchens of some of Tuscaloosa’s downtown churches.
Three decades later, the Community Soup Bowl continues to serve hundreds of hot meals every day, with the help of the five founding downtown churches: First Baptist, First African Baptist, First United Methodist, First Presbyterian and Christ Episcopal and a host of many volunteers. We are located at 1711 23rd Avenue, Tuscaloosa, AL.
