Thousand Oaks is considered one of California most desirable cities to live; one of the reasons why it is so appealing is our expansive open spaces. Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA) was created in 1977 by the City of Thousand Oaks and Conejo Recreation and Park District (CRPD) with the responsibility of acquiring, conserving, and managing all that open space. COSCA currently manages almost 15,000 acres and 140 miles of trails, sustainably balancing public use with ecosystem protection so the parks we appreciate and enjoy today will be there for future generations. There is something for everyone in our open space, from hiking to horseback riding, bird watching to mountain biking. COSCA emphasizes outdoor education to create informed trail users. With the help of community partners, public agencies, and amazing volunteers we will continue our legacy of open space preservation.
