After serving 14 years in the U.S. Air Force, I was discharged for a medical condition. It was at that time I decided to peruse my dream of becoming a certified dog trainer. I put myself through Animal Behavioral College's Dog Trainer program and opened my business in Ohio. A few years after that, my husband retired from the Air Force and we moved back here to Northern Colorado Springs. I took a position at PetSmart as their dog trainer and loved working there but I wanted more. I left there and once again started up my own business. In May of 2017, I wanted to increased my skills and knowledge to be able to be a better trainer and offer my clients more services so I left for Starmark Academy. 3 months later I graduated as a Canine Trainer and Behavior Specialist.
Connect with Canines isn't just about dog training. Its about helping you communicate with your dog better by understanding his body language and applying the right training technique. Its about forming that bond and developing the type of trust that makes your dog want to work for you. We work on improving your dog's behavior in the privacy of your own home by using a combination of training techniques. When you and your dog are more comfortable with the commands, we may met up at a public park or hiking trail to proof the dogs commands by adding distractions.
I have experience in basic obedience, intermediate obedience, advanced obedience, off leash obedience, canine good citizen development and testing, leash reactivity, dog reactivity, fear based aggression/reactivity, resource guarding, trick training, nose work and much more.
