Soon after graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in human biology, I accepted a position as a life science instrument vendor for a leading supplier. It didn’t take long to realize how important and worthwhile tradeshows can be.

One morning, my boss asked me to register the two of us for some upcoming tradeshows. After searching for nearly an entire workday, I offered him the list of shows I managed to compile, which was mainly comprised of shows that were only slightly relevant.

I quickly decided that I could better serve scientific advancement by facilitating vendor visibility than I could by selling instruments.
