CHILDREN SERVICES

Children are a priority at Cornerstone from babies to pre-teens, we believe it is our duty to care, love and nurture these beautiful blessings in our family.

Jason Tackett directs our children's ministries. He enthusiastically loves and motivates children in the fundamentals of Christian faith. Sunday mornings, Sunday nights, and Wednesday nights give you ample opportunity for a safe environment where your children will learn and grow with Jesus.

YOUTH SERVICES
The transition from child to adult is a major transition in everyone's life. Whether you are the parent or the adolescent, this is a time when guidance benefits all of us.

THE UPRISING

Grade 6th to 12th grade we meet on Sunday nights for small groups from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm and on Wednesday nights from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.

COLLIDE
Collide is the leadership & planning team for our the Uprising Youth Ministries. This group functions as a form of discipleship for the parents, sponsors, and teens being trained in the transformation of Christ.

YOUNG ADULT
College aged adults meet every Wednesday at 6:00 pm on campus. We discuss issues of life, meaning, faith and movies.

ADULT
A fundamental truth of human existence is that we are a delicate balance of interconnectedness with others. Whatever stage you are at in your life, we hope to have a place for you.

SMALL GROUPS
During the summer, our small groups function more as random gatherings of people on Sunday nights. Check the calendar for more information during this time. Fall small groups can be found on our webpage.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY

The beauty of being Christian is that our faith calls us into a community larger than ourselves, made up of many different people in many different places. Celebrate Recovery is a national ministry that originated out of Saddle Back Church in California. What occurs at Cornerstone is our interpretation of Celebrate Recovery according to our mission of being a multifaceted church for the people of the Tri-State Area. People from all walks of life join in worship and accountability on Tuesday nights beginning with dinner at 6pm, a large gathering at 6:30 pm, and small groups at 7:30 pm.

Nos Ama es un grupo de la Iglesia Cornerstone del Nazareno que ayuda a la gente hispanohablante alrededor de Portsmouth. Nuestra mision es mostrar el amor de Cristo a esta poblacion. Ahora en la iglesia hasta el treinta de septiembre tenemos clases para ayudar a la gente hispanohablante a aprender el ingles y trabajar en recibir sus GEDs. Son los lunes hasta los jueves empezando a las once hasta las cuatro. Tambien hay clases para ninos. Si conoce a alguien que las clases ayudaran por favor llame a Cornerstone.

Nos Ama is a group from Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene that reaches out to the Hispanic Population of the Greater Portsmouth Area. Our mission is to show the love of Christ to this population. Now in the church until September 30th we have classes to help the Hispanic population learn English and work on receiving their GEDs. They are on Mondays through Thursdays beginning at eleven until four. Also there are classes for children. If you know someone that the classes will help, please call the church.

JOY SENIOR ADULTS
JOY stands for Just Older Youth. It is our senior group and we meet the 4th Thursday of every month for dinner and dominoes at 6:00 pm in the church dining room.

DIVORCE CARE
Are struggling with divorce? Not sure how to rebuild your life? John & Theresa Chesmar work with anyone who is going through divorce and offer tangible help. You can reach them at (740)-778-3226.

NURSING HOME VISITATION
We at Cornerstone believe that all people, all ages, from all walks of life have something to offer. On Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm Debbie Bond takes a group and visits our friends and loved ones at the our local nursing home. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

SINGLE & PARENTING
Support group for single parents that provides tips & parenting wisdom to offer help, hope & encouragement. You'll participate in video seminars that explain how to: wisely encourage your kids to obey, help your hurting child, eliminate debt & other tips. You'll develop meaningful friendships with other single parents. Meets Wednesdays 7:00 -8:30 pm.
