Comments:
Before posting a comment, please note the Costa Mesa Police Department will review all comments after posting. Due to the fact this page is public and possibly visible to persons of all ages, we expect participants to show respect, civility and consideration to visitors. Therefore, comments will be removed if they:

Employees of the Costa Mesa Police Department will not edit public comments to remove objectionable or inappropriate content, so please ensure that comments comply with this policy or they will be removed. Users who fail to comply with these guidelines may be blocked from posting further comments.

The Costa Mesa Police Department recognizes that social media tools are available 24 hours a day, and we welcome comments at any time. However, the moderation of comments and private messages occur during regular business hours, Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Pacific Standard Time, or when possible. Comments and private messages submitted after hours or on weekends or holidays will be read as soon as possible. For this reason private messages, in particular, that contain time sensitive or case specific information should not be provided using this tool. We would instead ask that you contact Costa Mesa Police Department Communications at (714) 754-5255 to file a report or provide information.

Privacy:
To protect your personal privacy and the privacy of other persons, Costa Mesa Police Department recommends that people do not include personally identifiable information, such as full name, Social Security number, phone numbers, addresses, or e-mail addresses in the body of their comments. If comments include personally identifiable information, it may not be posted.

Note: The Costa Mesa Police Department or any of its members will not ask for your personal information via any social networking site either through the official Costa Mesa Police Department’s “Facebook” page, nor any “Facebook” page maintained by any other unit or person employed by the Costa Mesa Police Department, for any official use by the Department.

There is no expectation of privacy as to any posting or the content of any posting.
