More about Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District

We believe all students are entitled to a successful education, our focus is learning and we are team. We’re proud to be a district creating innovative programs, opening schools, attracting students and preparing them for college and careers. We have a strong academic program designed to reach all students and give them a solid core foundation.

We have eight elementary schools, all unique, designed to provide families with choices. We have a strong core program, which includes “Walk-to-Read” supported by an enrichment program with music, physical education, libraries, computer labs and academic support designed to provide all of our students with a well-rounded education. The recently modernized Thomas Page Academy, in a countryside setting of Cotati, is transitional kindergarten through eighth grade school (TK-8). John Reed Elementary, (TK-2) and Waldo Rohnert Elementary (3-5) are sister schools that share a grade span in the heart of Rohnert Park. Our other elementary schools are all transitional kindergarten through fifth grade (TK-5). University Elementary is a partnership with Sonoma State University and offers project-based and experiential learning for students. Monte Vista Elementary has a proud tradition of strong academics and great school spirit. Evergreen Elementary recently added a new Kinder Zone and outdoor shelter structures. Next year it is slated to have the rest of the campus modernized. Richard Crane Elementary, which is on a year-round calendar, is currently co-located at Evergreen, but will open on its newly modernized campus in July 2017. Hahn Elementary School has newly expanded campus and a great team of teachers.

The district has two middle schools both of which are sixth through eighth grade (6-8). Lawrence Jones Middle School has a spacious campus with high school size gymnasium. The school has strong academics, elective program, school culture and the creative Expeditionary Learning Program. Technology Middle School, opened in 2013, is focused on project-based learning with an emphasis on science and technology. The school is opening its brand new “Design Lab,” which is a hands-on learning and building space for students to apply classroom instruction.

Technology High School, located on the Sonoma State University Campus, is one of the top performing high schools in the State of California and is a Distinguished School. The magnet school is focused on science, mathematics and engineering using project-based learning. Rancho Cotate High School, one of the most comprehensive high schools in the North Bay, has a core program supported by pathways for students. Along with an expanding Advanced Placement set of classes, the school has a complete vocational education program and elective offerings. The Rancho Flex Academy and Phoenix Program are both designed to support alternative learning models for high school age students who want to learn in different ways.

We encourage you to visit our schools. Check out crpusd.org for more information.
