Crab Hut was founded by a family who immigrated to Houston, Texas. Living in Texas taught them to appreciate many of the seafood offerings the Gulf of Mexico had to offer. One of their fondest memories was eating boiled crawfish with family and friends. After leaving Texas in exchange for the sunny San Diego weather, they craved the food of the south. This was the inspiration for Crab Hut, a southern style boil restaurant with a San Diego twist. Established in the summer of 2007, the family owned restaurant expanded to three locations.
