Crazy Horse Outfitters services some of the last remaining wild places in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. There are things you will not find out here and some things you will find nowhere else. We treasure the simplicity of the cowboy way of life, indigenous wildlife and breathtaking scenery in the unsurpassed beauty of the Weminuche Wilderness. This is why we do what we do and we would like to take you there!

CHO is known for its gentle well seasoned horses and has been providing educational expeditions for three generations. CHO offers exclusive picturesque trail rides, guided/non-guided wilderness trips, base camps for summer, backpacking support, fishing, sightseeing and hunting trips. Drop camps are also available for the do-it-yourself sportsmen.

We don’t just give trail rides or hunt animals we make lifelong friends. CHO wants you to come back year after year and enjoy the many wonders and solitude of the wilderness of Colorado. Public lands are getting harder and harder to find where there is not motorized traffic and urban sprawl. True wilderness is the place to find it. CHO is here to help you as your service provider; we pride ourselves on staying at the leading edge of modern day technology and incorporating it into a historical means of adventure.

Our base camps at 10,600’ in the wilderness are just the beginning. High mountain lakes and streams produce some of the best waters for the fishing enthusiasts. The wilderness is also home to North American big game animals and offers opportunities for a quality wilderness hunt. CHO also maintains one of the finest stables in the Four Corners region hosting trail rides that travel along Williams Gorge to the Ice Caverns. The four hour ride displays viewings of two mountain ranges and a spectacular big meadow. Then there is the ever popular day rides, pack a lunch and enjoy the surrounding wilderness areas.
