The saying "When opportunity knocks, all one has to do is open the door and step through" is the best way to describe how the Creative Arts Center came to be. After several years of bureaucratic wrangling, the State of Maine decided to take the building, through eminent domain, where owners Steve and Teresa Wong ran the long established Smith's Ceramic Studio. Teresa was quick to realize her lifelong dream of opening a center for those of all ages and skill levels. A center where individuals and groups can come in a discover thier own creativity. Once they found a new location they set to work establishing a space where individuals wishing to learn, share and play could come experience all types of art media.
