Cross Church Maine

Most religious men despised Jesus while many non-religious men and women followed him. Even today, many who call themselves Christians often act more like those who rejected Jesus than those who followed him. It’s so common that Gandhi lamented, “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” For this reason, Cross Church strives to liberate Christianity from its cultural captivity and refocus the church on the message and person of Jesus Christ.

Cross Church celebrates love, joy, kindness, goodness, grace, mercy, peace, justice, simplicity, authenticity, patience, gentleness, self-control, beauty, reason, and even science. In fact, since this world is God’s, we believe Christians should care for the environment more than anyone.

Cross Church is God-centered, Gospel-driven congregation committed to sharing God’s love with Greater Portland though culturally relevant music, engaging messages, authentic fellowship, and passionate community outreach.
