CrossFit Vital is excited to announce it’s first annual Newcomer’s Open CrossFit Competition. This event will be held March 1, 2014. The day long competition will test athletes proficiencies of CrossFit movements and introduce them to the stressors of competition.
Our Motivation for the Event
1) To introduce up and coming athletes who are “Newcomers” to the competitive side of CrossFit. This event will be open to all athletes who have not previously competed in a CrossFit competition.
2) Introduce athletes to the arena of competition against fellow newcomer athletes to competitive CrossFit.
3) Allow athletes to experience the feeling of competition outside of their box, allowing for invaluable insight into their own competitive CrossFit journey where improvements can be made.
4) Have a great time and bring the CrossFit community closer and stronger.
What CFV views as a CrossFit competition: Entry fee required for participation, assigned judges to athletes, athletes had a tallied score and winners were designated at the end of the event.

-If you have competed in any of these or similar competitions you are NOT eligible to compete in the Newcomer’s Open.

Mens/Womens RX - Athlete performs most WODs RX and is extremely proficient in the following movements:
Weightlifting - Deadlift, Clean, Presses, Snatch, Squats, Thruster, Kettlebell Movements, Wall Ball Shots, Tire Flips.
Gymnastic - Hand Release Push Up, Burpee, Pull Up, Box Jump, Air Squat, Toes 2 Bar, Lunges.
Monostructural - Running, Rowing, Double Unders.
Mens/Womens Scaled - Athlete performs 50-75% WODs RX and is extremely proficient in the following movements:
Weightlifting - Deadlift, Clean, Presses, Squats, Thruster, Kettlebell Swings, Wall Ball Shots, Tire Flips.
Gymnastic - Push Up, Burpee, Box Jump, Air Squat, Knees 2 Elbow, Lunges
Monostructural - Running, Rowing, Single Unders.
All athletes must be 18 years of age to be eligible to enter.
