Christ the King Catholic School opened its doors in September of 1949. The first classes were held in Jewett Hall with 45 students in the kindergarten through fourth grades. These 45 students were taught by the Sisters of Mercy; namely, Sisters Bernadine and Janet. Beginning the second year Mrs. Helen Schmidt joined the faculty and each year a grade and staff member were added until the school had kindergarten through eighth grade. The school now holds classes starting at 18 months old through sixth grade.
Christ the King Catholic School provides a quality, Catholic education in which the core subjects of language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science are taught, along with social skills education, art, technology, library, music, physical education, and Spanish. Overarching this exceptional, comprehensive curriculum is our Catholic identity. Students are taught religion daily and attend Mass each Friday. Our students are taught to live the gospel message and to be of service to others.
We provide care for preschoolers who are as young as 18 months through four years of age. Our elementary school offers kindergarten through the sixth grade. We invite you to visit our campus and join our Christ the King School family.
