Cull Books

Founded in 2006 by Cleo Duke-Wright, Cull Books is a multicultural bookstore that specializes in African-American heritage throughout the past, present, and future. Mrs. Duke-Wright, or Miss Cleo as she is often called, is passionate about her people's history and aims to share that knowledge with her community through her books and storytelling.
The name "Cull Books" is very indicative of how Miss Cleo feels about her heritage and her community. "Cull" means to gather and select for the purpose of storing. Miss Cleo sells books that aim to open people's minds to the "explosion of knowledge" that lie inside of them and gather and store that knowledge for future generations.
Miss Cleo understands the importance of reading in children's lives. Being able to use your imagination and open up your mind to all the amazing things books have to offer, is essential for all young children. Through her love of storytelling, Miss Cleo aims to bring these stories to life for the youth in her community and ignite that love of words and reading that she found in herself at a young age.
