Custom Processing Services, Inc.

Custom Processing Services is a growing contract manufacturer. Oddly enough, the company does not have a product. Custom Processing provides toll processing services. Customers send their raw materials — powders, waxes, minerals — to CPS and the firm performs any number of particle size reduction processes to the material to produce precisely the size and shape particles the end-user desires.
Technically speaking, Custom Processing Services can crush, grind, pulverize, micronize and/or classify just about any type of product. In fact, CPS recently commissioned a new building on its manufacturing campus in Exeter Township that is dedicated to GMP processing. This is food- and pharmaceutical-grade work that is performed in clean rooms under stringent controls.
Growth has been a theme for the company, which was started in 1998 by Gregg Shemanski and Jeff Klinger. Beginning with one plant, they cultivated customers and by utilizing new processes and technologies, steadily saw results. As business grew, new employees and new work sites were needed. CPS added a second manufacturing plant to its Exeter campus. Shortly thereafter, Custom Processing’s leaders acquired a third location in East Greenville, Montgomery County. With the GMP plant, the company now operates four facilities, each with a specialized manufacturing focus.
“Double-digit growth” has been a mantra for CPS President Gregg Shemanski. He fully expects to continue the upward employment trend as the company looks to add several new manufacturing and engineering positions throughout the coming year.
