Kathryn's passion for pottery grew in Southern Indiana as she attended Gnaw Bone Camp in the summers of her youth. The highlight at camp was creek stomping to collect the red clay that they would painstakingly shave down, then wet, and create. There was one wheel, and Kathryn cherished the tiny pieces she made, and still has them today as a reminder to find those places of joy in childhood to guide us through our adult lives.

From 2001 to 2003, Kathryn worked as an apprentice for Tom White Pottery in Northfield, MA. At the same time, she was coaching for Adam Myerson's coaching business Cycle-Smart, racing her bike every weekend, and starting up BikeReg.com with Steve Roszko.

Then motherhood took over for a number of years, and now, working with potters Frank Edge at Northampton Pottery and Bonnie Cooper in Hatfield, MA, she is moving ahead with developing her own pottery business.

Kathryn draws her inspiration from the simple beauty found in the colors and shapes in nature, the subtle lines and curves that are all around us, and desires to reflect those qualities in her work. Kathryn also feels that being able to use beautiful handmade pottery to eat and drink from encourages a kind of mindfulness for appreciating our food and drink and our connection to the earth.
