Cycling Club at WCU

The Cycling Club at WCU races mountain and road at the collegiate level in the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (SECCC), and also participates in other races and organized rides in and near western North Carolina.

The location of WCU is excellent for both road biking and mountain biking. There are world-class climbs less than 5 miles from campus, great access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, an excellent trail on campus and fast, technical descents all just a bike ride away.

Western Carolina University has a 6.7 mile single-track mountain bike trail located on campus that is now open to the public. The trail can be accessed by the tunnel located next to the softball field and behind the Health and Human Sciences building. WCU is located within driving distance to Tsali Recreation Area, Pisgah National Forest and Bent Creek, all popular mountain-bike destinations.
