Damien Alvarez is native San Franciscan who has been actively working in the graphic design industry since 2006. In January of 2007 he graduated with a double major in Industrial Arts -Visual Communications/Design & Spanish Language from San Francisco State University. He has experience designing for many different areas ranging from the corporate and non-profit sector, to the nightlife scene. His projects include logo designs and branding, and producing complex, print-based, page layout projects. He is familiar with the entire Adobe Creative suite and specializes in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign & Dreamweaver. He is currently expanding his skill set by attending classes in order to receive a Web Design & Development certification through SF State’s College of Extended Learning Multimedia Studies program.
Damien became interested in graphic design when he was organizing educational events for youth while working at a non-profit in Marin. He enjoyed playing with the layout of various images, and the integration of typography to create advertisements for imaginary events. He describes his style as natural, organic design, pulling inspiration from architecture, nature, and the free flowing forms of the performing arts.
